See Your Goals in Light of God's Will

Christians share the most important goals that a human being can have. Our goals are to develop a close, loving relationship with God, to love God completely, to love others as ourselves, to seek first the Kingdom of God, to receive eternal life,... goals formed out of God's design are the goals that truly matter. Accept a great opportunity today to spend time with God and together set those eternal goals.

Each year, I buy a paper family calendar. Even with all the devices in our house, through the years we have found that the only way to make sure that everyone knows about an event is to put it on our calendar. We also fill in our dates with our church activities first and then add other activities around them. Filling in the dates is a small task, but how we use our time is a good indication of the importance we place on our relationship with God and Christ. It all starts with each new day. Saying "God, here I am. What do you want me to do?" Realize that we are in constant communication with God? Isn't that what Paul meant when he told us to, "Pray continually." God answers us so clearly through His Word, the scriptures. The Bible gives us clear, understandable steps toward our eternal goals. And the best part is that we don't have to try to achieve these goals on our own. God is in our corner, giving us understanding and the energy to obey Him. God gives His Spirit without limit. So lets take this moment to start working on those eternal goals. Lets take the next step by putting into practice some of the words from 1 Thessalonians 5:15b-18. "Strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Trust God to light our way.
